I recently rediscovered my old collection of TNT discs, and was pleased to see they are still soldiering on despite the inglorious downfall of hair metal music in the early 90's. Their latest effort entitled "My Religion," is absolutely fantastic. Well, fantastic if you were a fan of this kind of music in the first place. TNT was regarded as one of the more musically talented metal bands, though they enjoyed only moderate commercial success. I also appreciate the fact that they avoided (for the most part) the blatant sexual machismo found in the music and image of their peers. The TNT brand of rock is very melodic, and I suppose a word to describe the sound of the band is "crunchy." Why these guys never broke big, and less than stellar bands like Warrant and Poison did, remains a mystery.
